 What is a CRM?

First up the acronym CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management.

In essence a CRM is a database used to store information about your customers.

A CRM isn’t about building a list of contacts from a stack of business cards you’ve collected.

You should use a CRM to create a complete profile of the Companies and Contacts you deal with.

Collect as much information about your contacts as you can. Notes and comments from your communications can be stored in the profile. As well as professional information, include personal information like partner’s names, children and interests.

Having comprehensive information can help you form and maintain stronger relationships.

A CRM is a well-used sales and marketing tool with features to track and forecast sales.

Lead management is a feature of a CRM used to record the fresh information quickly into the system without the need to include all the company or contact details. Leads can be given a status and managed until converted to a customer.
